I'm about to do a side-by-side comparison of headlights - in the shop, against a whiteboard. Lights are mounted in a jig about 3-feet apart, powered by a 12v 40A power supply that will show current draw of each. Jig is ready, PS is ready (modified with 50A meter), all that's left to do is remove headlight from the T-Bird and see what happens.

Fuse in headlamp circuit is 15A, so together - Bright's on - they can't draw more than 30A (guessing around 20).
Should have results soon.

(Fire extinguisher is ready, too, BTW ;-) standby....

I believe that the halogen has better dark penetration which probably won't show on your test.

Tempted to agree, especially since my inexpensive LED came in a black box without a single mark on it. No brand, no stickers, nada. Don't know if it can compete with the $400-$500 Denali and JW posted earlier Link or those on Eagle link from PapaSmurf Link
Test might be a washout, dunno 'till I try. Really difficult to judge while riding, and hard to know how well the LED is seen in daylight.

Remember the days of sealed beam head lamps, not with these eyes any more. Either way you're better off but waiting your results.

I don't have LEDs but I have encountered them on the road coming towards me and you see them for quite a distance. In daytime the whiter the light the better.
